In the Occupational Therapy Intake, Occupational Therapists assess the sensory motor development of the child , based on the concerns of parents or the primary consultant. They focus on the sensory systems of the child and his motor skills including his attention-focussing abilities, graphomotor concerns, orosensory and oromotor skills. Based on their observations and parent’s feedback, they propose an intervention plan ahead for the family, which also includes a written home plan that consists of strategies and activities to work on the concerns.
